Description
The Child Safe Breakaway Clutch is a chain controller used to operate Revolution Roman Blind Headrails in place of the traditional chain controller.
When a downforce of 6kg or more is applied to the control chain, the controller will release the cog and chain from the Headrail. This greatly reduces any potential strangulation hazard associated with a fixed loop control chain.
Even though the chain will detach completely, the cog itself will remain attached to the Child safe Breakaway controller by way of a short elastic tether. This also reduces any potential choking hazard posed by loose components.
To reattach the chain to the Child Safe Breakaway Clutch, simply loop the chain back over the cog and insert the cog and chain back into its correct position within the controller. (Please ensure the cog and elastic tether are reinserted in the correct orientation, with the elastic tether facing back into the controller).
It should easily click back into position.
IMPORTANT: failure to ensure the cog is reinserted in the correct orientation could result in damage to the controller. This damage would not be covered under warranty.
As this device is designed to release the chain with 6kg or more of downforce, it is also important that your customers are aware not to try and use the chain too vigorously or to pull the blind up past its natural stacking point. Misuse or overly vigorous use of the control system could result in unwanted chain detachment.
It is important that this information is passed onto the purchasing retail customer.
